As promised, albeit slightly delayed, here is the report on the SSI parade.
First and foremost I would like to thank in a big way the “Band of Brothers” for their incredibly gracious hospitality, they had all the basses covered from shuttles to the 411 on food and drink they put on a class act program there. The playing was top notch, the fellowship was outstanding and the parade and all of post parade festivities were a sight to behold. It was nice to put some faces with their e-mail addresses and sit and talk to many people I have corresponded with. I hear tell that an engagement even went down at 115 Bourbon Street and I was a witness to perhaps the longest and most complicated steak order since mankind has been ordering beef.
I came away from the SSI with some new friends and was fortunate enough to witness, as many will say, history being made by watching the “Amazing Grace” Documentary being created and even got to take part in it. SSI is going to be a yearly event for me I have no doubt, I would try to describe it in great detail but it like so many other events you actually have to be there to truly appreciate the sights, sounds and revelry.
