This year the Annual Drum Major Billy Jordan Workshops will consist of two weekends
(April18-19, April 25-26) in Orange, Connecticut.
This is the perfect opportunity for you or your Pipe-band to be trained by the very best.
The First Weekend:
(April 18-19)
Includes actual British Regimental foot drill and deportment for Pipe-bands, Drum Majors, and Living History folks.
New this year is a special course for Pipe-bands which will cover band formations, massed bands drill, funeral drill, dress and solo piper drill as well as skills for parades and the competition arena.
- Drum Majors will practice drill , mace signals, more drill and "working" a band.
-Re-enactors will learn proper 20th century British drill; special features include actual former British Army NCO's
marching you up and down the parade ground as well as all in good fun "Square Bashing"
The Second Weekend:
(April 25-26)
Will be mace drill, dress, deportment, flourishing and skills for the "Competition"
or "Street" Drum Major. Non competition or beginner Drum Majors are very welcome as well as Pipe Majors who'd like to learn the role the Drum Major play's in a Pipe-band.
Tuition is $65.00 per person per weekend and includes lunch
both days. Each class day runs from 9:00am to 5:00 pm and includes the lunch break.
Drum Major Billy Jordan and his team of ex-forces instructors conduct Drum Major and Band courses several times a year across Europe and The UK. This will be his only appearance here in the U.S. this year, please don't miss out!
